Introduction to our winemaker – Catherine Delaunay

Catherine Delaunay is one of France’s best-known and respected woman winemakers. Born in Burgundy to a family with a long history of winemaking, she studied New World techniques and returned to France with a dynamic, modern approach focused on state of the art winemaking.

Geared to the international market, her wines guarantee consumers:

  • Quality, consistency and excellent value
  • Focus on expressing varietal character and terroir
  • Wines which are elegant and authentic, yet easy to drink and always over-deliver

She has worked from the beginning on developing Winemaker’s Reserve and has built an in-depth understanding of what wine drinkers in Asia want.

Gilbert & Gaillard

The annual Gilbert & Gaillard International Wine Competition is held by Vinipresse, publishers of Gilbert & Gaillard, France’s top wine guide. Started in 1991 the guide is now available worldwide in 9 languages. Wines are rigorously assessed in blind tastings by panels of independent specialists including winemakers, wine writers and sommeliers.

Winemaker’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Corbieres have been awarded Gold in 2017 while their Merlot and Chardonnay have been awarded Silver in 2015.

ANIVIN De France

ANIVIN De France, the French trade organisation for Vin de France, hold their competition annually in Paris. This year a jury of international experts from around the world including buyers from the international retail market and 11 oenologists representing the French Union of Oenologists conducted a blind tasting of 290 wines selected just 87 for recommendation.

Winemaker’s Reserve Chardonnay has been awarded Silver in 2016.

Concours International De Lyon

Concours International de Lyon takes place in Spring every year in Lyon – widely respected a France’s capital of gastronomy. More than 3700 samples from 22 countries are blind tasted by a carefully selected panel of expert wine professionals and reviewers. The competition awards just two distinctions: Gold and Silver medals. The competition is validated by the French Ministry of Economy and Finances and is ISO 9001 certified.

Winemaker’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon has been awarded Silver in 2017.
